Tied to my own apron strings

bakers apron
I thought I'd show you a couple little projects I've been working on.  A few weeks ago, at a yard sale, I found a grab bag of random table linens - napkins, bread clothes, that sort of thing - all shades of white.  As I was ironing them and thinking what I might do with them, I decided they were too pretty to use for napkins.  I love aprons, and since I'm a very messy girl, they are a necessity.  So an apron the linens did become!

apron needlework
I took three of them: a large cloth for the skirt, a smaller for the bodice, and another small one for the pocket.  I stitched them together by hand, because the rhythm of a needle pulling thread is so soothing to me.  I made sure to use a bright colored thread so my wonky stitches showed up plainly for everyone to see!

lace on apron
This is the top part. What is this kind of lace called?  Isn't it beautiful?

baking time
I added on a couple of practice crochet medallions I had made, and a couple ribbons for ties.   I will be sure to use this apron for baking rather than cherry pitting;)

green butterfly apron
Here is another one.  I made matching aprons for my friend and I to wear when we clean, but I decided I like mine too much to wear it while cleaning icky teenage boy bathrooms.  ewww!  So, I'm leaving it at home:)

edit: I forgot to mention that Dottie Angel was my inspiration for the white apron!
