The Utah Surface Design Group show opened Friday night at the Michael Berry Gallery here in Salt Lake. It was absolutely wonderful! Members of the group made their own interpretations of prayer flags, which were strung across the space.
We had a really good turn out of visitors to the gallery. There were so many stunning pieces of work. Here, I was trying to capture a patron as he viewed the art, but when he saw the camera he ducked out of the picture frame:)
It was fun to watch people discuss my work.
I loved seeing it on the wall with the little info cards beside.
This was an addition to a piece I showed you last week. This work is by Polly Masaryk.
This is a close up of a large piece by Mimi Rodes. Don't you just want to touch it and run your fingers through that shaggy texture?
I had fun discussing my work too:)
This piece is by Chris Bramhall. It's a Korean felted paper technique called Joomchi. I watched a demonstration of this last month and can't wait to try it out myself!
A sweet friend and member of the group gifted me with these exquisite linens passed down from her and her husband's grandmothers. My mind is already churning away, imagining what they might become!
Thank you for joining me on this tour:) I'll see you on Wednesday!
Oh what a fun way to begin my day here in grey and dreary CT! Thank you for sharing this tour of gorgeous work. I especially loved the photo of you chatting with a gallery visitor!
