TGIF

I know I promised to unveil the swans today, but I guess my pants are on fire (liar liar).  For two reasons, there isn't a spark of light in the Utah skies today, and the resin hasn't set up, so I can't untie the wings and feathers in order to take a picture.  So, let's hope for some light, and more than that, hope that the resin sets!!!  I'm questioning myself now, "did I stir it fast and long enough??"  I've used this product before and had good results.  I mixed it just like I have in the past, so hopefully I'm just being impatient.  Luckily, the tv show "So You Think You Can Dance" is filming auditions over at Ballet West, so I don't have to take the sculpture in until Monday.  So please, think hard and bright thoughts and send them this way!  Then I will be able to snap some pics in the swans' full glory!  I can't wait to show you.

In the meantime, I'm playing house:)  I haven't got to do that in a long long time!  I've scrubbed my kitchen top to (almost) bottom, got the laundry going, cleaned the pantry, and now I'm working on my back window display.  I hang garlands and pinecones and flowers and things in the window, according to the season.

Here is last February's window display.  I'll change it up a little this year.  Maybe.

I found this over at Design*Sponge:
Isn't it cute?  And mushy??  I'm going to use this as a jumping off point and do something similar in my dining room.   I don't usually go to this much effort for Valentine's but I just feel a need for some cheerful silliness to brighten up these cold, grey days!  I just remembered I have some vintage Valentines someplace.  I wonder if I'll have any luck in finding them.

Those are my weekend plans, in between two plays and my friend's book signing.  How about you, do you decorate for Valentine's Day?  Do you have something fun planned for the weekend?

    No, I don't decorate for Valentine's Day.
