There is a light at the end of the tunnel, just on the other side of this mini bird refuge!
This is where I am now. I covered the rim of the lazy susan first with gesso, then with light molding paste, which I built up just a little bit on the inside edge. Then I painted it with acrylics, and it has just occurred to me that I need to get in there and put a coat of acrylic medium over that to seal it.
I covered the shoes with paper snowflakes. I have changed my mind about where I will attach the swan necks, so I glued the dancer's signatures back on in their original location, and left that showing through the paper collage. The shoes are still drying. I've put the space heater in my studio, but they aren't drying very fast. Oh! I should put them in front of the fireplace. That will work.
In the meantime, I'm going to glue some river rocks down on the base along with some paper reeds. The plan is to assemble this all today and pour the resin tonight. Do you know what that means? That's right! Tomorrow I get to clean house! Whoo hoo! If you could see what a dump this place is, you would understand my excitement:)
Are you freezing your butt off where you are? It's 18 degrees here today; I know that is warmer than what some of you are experiencing. BRRRRR!
I'm going to go snuggle up with some river rocks and E6000 glue. You stay warm and I'll be back on Friday to unveil the Tundra Swans!

Go you!! We've been cold...but that means sub-30 in the mornings, and 40's in the afternoon. Sorry :)

ReplyDeleteLookin' wonderful! Can't wait to see some swans!
12 degrees today but feels like (-4) with the wind. I think it's warmer than it's been all week, but we (central MN) - ironically - aren't being hit by the winter storm hitting so much of the country.
