A Strange Accupuncture

swan
Eh hum...  on Monday, I may or may not have mentioned something about having wings and tails ready for viewing today.  That's not happening.  I have spent a lot of time studying swan wings and faces, and I've been working really hard at getting the detail just right in these swans' features.

Up until this point, I've been working with just the white roving.  I have three different size needles that I use to perform different functions with the wool, starting with a larger gauge and working to the smaller for finer detail.  I use the smallest needle to shape the indentations in the surface.  Now I'm starting to add the black wool yarn for the beak.

I think this will probably take me another day to finish, then I can start on the wings.

Now, if I could just get someone to drop off dinner..... a nice casserole would be yummy!  Why aren't there take out restaurants where you can pick up a casserole?  Wouldn't that be great?  I keep telling DH that if we had a freezer, I could fill it with casseroles and dinner on these kind of nights would be a snap.   Well ok, while you work on creating that new restaurant, I'm going to get back to my swans.

Hope your week is going swell!

So cool to see how your swans are progressing!

When I saw your post title, I thought you were going to show how you had stuck a needle through your finger or something tragic...

  6. Looks as if things are going well for you ... I like the progress you've made. And I wish that I was your neighbor so that I could pop by with some easy-to-make bean and cheese burritos (Tom & I ate those yesterday afternoon-evening ... while we were busy creating.)
