I wish grownups got gold stars or happy face stickers at the end of the day or the week if we did good. I would not have gotten one this week, and that is just how I feel right now; it's Friday and I'm not getting my happy face sticker because I did not do good work this week. Boo:(
I have lost almost an entire week to plumbing, pipes, and a plumber who I was starting to fear was going to move in with us. He had some serious boundary issues. Breathing breathing.
There were some very productive and constructive moments to this week; I just haven't gotten as far on my swans as I would have liked. I only have a week to finish them. Technically I have two weeks, but Sundance Film Festival starts in a week and so...well....I won't be creating; I'll be being awed and blown away by other people's creations.
I made a trip to the yarn store today, to pick up some yarn for the swan wings. I found this beautiful, delicate raw silk. I can't wait to get to this point in the process! I can just imagine the exquisite, airy crochet stitches. I have to deal with the point of a very sharp needle for a while longer before I can start crocheting feathers.
And since my yarn store was having a sale....... I decided to get myself a gold star after all. I couldn't resist these pretties. They will be my future reward for a job well done:)
Did you do good work this week? Are you buried in snow or sweltering where you are? It's a warm 35℉ here today, so I have cracked a couple windows. I know! I'm insane! But when I got back from the yarn store I almost choked on the stale air in here.
I'm off to go earn my pretty yarn reward. Have a great weekend and I'll see you on Monday!
What yummy yarns!! I keep seeing people decorating and creating with creams and khakis....NO, we need color! :) I have your garland hanging up again on the mantel, after its Christmas hiatus- so cheerful!! Oh, the kids finally made their canvas paintings- THOSE are colorful, they'll be up on Monday :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a tough week...I would have a hard time having a plumber with boundary issues in my small apartment. Breathing. Breathing. Yuck! Glad that's over for you (it is right?!)
ReplyDeleteSo onward with your sweet swans...and the use of that lovely silk (?) yarn.
For me, this was a week for getting to my larger vision of what's to come this year...a bit after most have made their resolutions, but I'm okay marching to a different drummer and all that.
Cheers!
Jan
I would give you both a gold star AND a happy face!!!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the plumber....I was in a store just the other day and a guy came and stood by me and did plenty of BREATHING.................eeeww.
I was working on my year end book work this week. I don't think they give gold stars for that either.
But they should.
And it has been everything here this week---from double digits below zero to the low 40s {on the plus side...} today. And of course we have snow. That is winter in the Black Hills.
I want your yarn!!!
Boundary issues.. yuk... hopefully the last of that....
ReplyDeleteI think you earnt plenty of gold stars by putting up with that! I think i'm in the red :)
yay! for yarn sales!
