Quick and Easy Poinsettia Craft

pipe cleaner poinsettias_9
If you are looking for an instant gratification kind of holiday craft, this is it!  I found a poinsettia wreath tutorial over at Gifted Magazine, and I thought those poinsettias would make great gift toppers.

Click through for the tutorial....

You will need scissors, wire snips, needle nose pliers, and some glue.  I chose this glue because it was the first thing I saw when I opened the drawer.  I think Elmer's or Eileen's glue would work just fine for this.

Get you some pipe cleaners or chenille stems, whatever you call them nowadays.  You will need four red stems and one white stem for each flower.  You may also want some fine wire.  Also, you need sequins and some felt circles.

With the red stems, fold over each end so they meet about in the middle and twist the ends around to hold.

Do this to four stems, then fold each one in a V shape.

For this next part, you can use either the fine wire or another pipe cleaner.  I was going to use the wire, but when I went to do it, I decided the pipe cleaner held better.  Plus, it will give you nice ends to attach your poinsettia to a package.  So, hold your stems in a bunch and twist the pipe cleaner around the middle section, nice and tight.

Spread out the petals.

Next, glue the felt circle in the middle,

and glue some sequins on top of the circle.

Now, attach your poinsettia to your pretty little package, and give it to your pretty little love!

See you on Friday with another project!
