I am very sad to report that I can't show you my project I was working on, because it kept breaking. And breaking. And breaking. Finally, I decided it was time to put it away and start from scratch another day. But I promised you more thrifted goodness and some kitsch, and you will have it.
I found these wonderful trays for a dollar each. They are both made in England, and I love all things British. Especially Dame Judy Dench, but she wasn't at the thrift store. I don't think she hangs out in Salt Lake. Anyway, I love having trays to carry things about, and with all the carrying things about that I have to do these days with DH on the couch, the trays get used a lot.
Here is the kitsch. Is this not wonderful?? And just perfect for carrying DH his beverages and meals.
I love this tray. It's dated on the back, 1977. My guess is that some young Mormon missionary was in England in 1977 and got this for his dear mother back here in the States. I'm not even going to continue with the rest of my theory, because it involves how the tray now ended up at the thrift store, and I don't want to go there.
My project I was working on involves these trays. I'll try again and hopefully have a successful end product to show you soon. In the meantime, I am so happy to be going to two of Nicole's Classes tomorrow at the ARTWeekend Salt Lake City. I am taking Photo 101 (yeah!!!) and Photo Workflow. It's about working with your photos in Camera RAW. I've been wanting to take her classes for a long time now and am very excited about all I will learn.
So until Friday then! Ciao!
I LOVE the first tray...it's very you, Bobbi!
ReplyDeleteI was in college, studying in London during the queen's jubilee. It was great fun to see all the spectacle and celebration.
Have fun in your class.

I think it's funny that everyone likes the first tray better than my favorite kitschy one:)
