Monday sorta in the studio and an update on DH

Joker Crow

We visited the doctor this morning, and DH will be having his surgery on Thursday.  We were really hoping for tomorrow, but it is what it is.   He's doing pretty good as long as he keeps the leg elevated.  He hasn't even had any pain killers since early Saturday morning.  When the leg is suspended, as when he's making the short trip from the couch to the bathroom, the blood pools and his leg starts hurting him, so we're keeping him on the couch.  He's going to start getting really bored.  Any ideas for games one can play lying down?

I sneak off to the studio when I can.  I've been piddling around with a few things in there.  Last week, I finished this fellow up there.  I've decided to do a series featuring this guy and his playing card, up to varying forms of mischief.  My head is full of crow ideas.  I'll be sure to show you what materializes.  In the meantime, I'll get back to my nursing duties;)

Hope your week is getting off to a grand start:)

  1. The Trickster!! There are so many fabulous Native American stories about the Trickster and the Raven, aren't there? Seems like I've heard quite a few from local tribes, growing up in the Pacific NW. Glad your husband is doing OK....if I had my choice, I'd read book after book :)

I am still loving this playful little crow mood you have been in. Can't wait to see what transpires next!

  5. LOVE your use of found objects (that is, after all, what crows are all about!).

Good luck with the invalid...cards, reading, hangman, dots...
