I replaced my kitchen scale on Friday. It started a whirlwind of baking. I haven't been baking as much as I'd like lately, because of the bathroom scale, but it hasn't made a damn bit of difference in how my pants fit, so I threw my hands up and gave in to the urge.
I want to learn how to bake beautiful pieces of confectionery art. And I can't learn unless I bake - a lot.
Mmmmm! Lemon curd:)
And it's so meditative too. I was feeling really stressed Friday night. Some issue with personal space and the people at the grocery store and on the streets. Their carts and cars were too close to me. So I decided to start my baking then.
This Lemon Crostata* is what came of it.
And this 9-grain Whole Wheat Harvest Bread** on Saturday.
And this Strawberry Bavarian Cream Ladyfinger Cake*** on Sunday. This is in my fridge right now. Will someone please come take it away? It's full of strawberry lusciousness.

'kay, I'm joining the queue here (man, I love spelling that word) but if you hear a noise tonight...it's me, sneaking a piece of that strawberry tart. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll be a sad girl when my "baby" stops nursing, and my once-a-week jog won't be able to handle the job of keeping my weight steady :)
