Springtime in Iowa

daffodils
It's been 40 years since I've watched spring come alive in Iowa.  It is glorious here at my mom's.  Things are popping out of the ground.

spirea buds
Trees and bushes are budding out.

racoon
Critters are doing critter things.

nest
New homes are being built.

black capped chickadee
And the birds!!!!  DH and I hung bird feeders yesterday, and now I can hardly get anything done because I'm so distracted by the action at the window!

cheerio
I went outside this morning and the chorus of bird song was amazing!

cat at the computer
I had the computer up recording birdsong, and one of the feral cats decided to check things out.  I haven't tried this before, so I don't know if it will work, but hopefully if you click the thingy below you will be able to hear the birds.  A few seconds in, you'll hear the cat sneeze when he stuck his nose in my coffee!

**edit** audio file didn't work.  I'm going to try something else:)  Wish me luck!

  2. Seems like you and I are doing the same thing....having spring at our Mom's....which I haven't done in years either!

    Love the coon!

I think I saw one trot across the street the other night, but it was dark and I couldn't tell for sure...was a little surprised to see one here in town....
