If you love mid-century graphic design as much as I do, be prepared to swoon over these fabric designs.
This is the quilt on the bed I'm sleeping on here at my mom's. It was created by Mom's husband's mother. Mom has another one on her bed. Most of the fabrics appear to be drapery fabric. They are all gorgeous. Mom isn't sure when the quilt was made, just a very long time ago. I am guessing that most of the fabrics are from the 1940s and 50s.
I started out intending to just photograph a few of my favorite patterns, but I quickly realized that I had many favorites! Click through to see them:)
I am always drawn to these designs with the swirly black lines.
It seems French to me for some reason. I think because it reminds me of a favorite movie when I was a kid, "Gay Purr-ee", a 1962 cartoon about some cats in Paris, with Judy Garland doing the voice of the girl cat.
These floral patterns are so beautiful.
I adore the abstract patterns. Lots of lines, crossing lines, making star shapes.
Isn't this big top pattern incredible?
Lots of geometric patterns with more starburst designs.
These abstracted houses are fantastic too!
Are you swooning yet?

OK, I love the rose and leaf pattern one, just above the grey square on the bottom left. Is one of your close-ups of that one?? Gorgeous! Lucky girl to be under such a quilt :)
