Making a Vision Board

vision board
I'm a believer in the power of vision boards.  A vision board is a tool for focusing your intentions. I use it for creating, visualizing and bringing into being the life I want.  Typically, you start with a big piece of paper or poster board and a stack of magazines.  You go through the magazines searching for images that really resonate with you.  The idea here isn't to paste pictures of expensive cars and diamond rings on your board; it's not about materialism.  It's about reaching goals and creating your life.  It works too.

It suddenly occurred to me last night, that I could create a vision board on Pinterest.  Do you use Pinterest?  It's way too much fun, but it's also a very useful tool for organizing images and other material from the web.

I started wandering around the internet today, including my own blog and Flickr pages, looking for those images that resonate with me.  My vision board is full of colorful images of cozy kitchens and gardens, people I love, simplicity and bliss.  That is exactly what the life I want is about.  My board will grow and evolve as I continue to redirect my focus and imagine this life I am daily creating.  Here's my board if you'd like to take a peek:)

**Edit:  In response to Karen's comment below, I felt it important to leave some links here about good pinning etiquette as well as the pros and cons of using Pinterest. We do need to be responsible pinners:)

  1. I was psuedo following along today while you pinned- I had my pin feed open, I loved seeing your things coming through :) (Did you know you have captcha now? I'm seeing a lot of blogs with it, I wonder if blogger switched it?)
