I have a confession to make. I am a terrible housekeeper. As much as a dirty, unkempt house drives me crazy, I am still terrible at it.
These windows here, I just cleaned the outside of them for the first time since we moved here two years ago. It's amazing how much light comes in now! Just think how nice this would have been had I gotten it done in May or even June when the rain finally stopped!
Cleaning the windows is one more thing that was on my end of summer to-do list. This weekend as we huddled in front of the fire, trying to stay warm, I mourned the vanished summer and the poor prognosis for getting through my list. It warmed back up enough today to get out there and get some work done. I still have more windows to clean and the rest of that list. My tomato plants are covered with big green tomatoes that I am trying to talk into ripening in the next two days. I do hope it happens.
How is your week looking?
My week? CRAZY! From VT tomorrow to CT. From CT on Wed, to La Guardia to IN. BoT meetings at Earlham on Thu and Fri. Inauguration of new prez on Sat. Back to CT on Sun........
ReplyDeleteThank goodness I've had my "autumn retreat" this past week!!!
Love your garlands. xo
You know, I brought all my big tomatoes into the kitchen last week, and by Sunday all the just-blushed ones were completely red and delicious! Remind me next summer to go ahead and pick ANYTHING with a hint of red, so they can ripen inside where it's warm, and the plant can focus on ripening the remaining fruit? I think I'd get a lot bigger harvest that way :)
ReplyDeleteClean windows???
ReplyDeleteNever heard of such a thing.
