More Crazy Crochet

Remember my crazy dream coral that I was trying to recreate in waking life?  Well, things didn't turn out like I'd planned. ha ha!

So in the dream, I crocheted the middle with acrylic, then a band of wool, then another band of acrylic.  In the dream, when I then put the thing in the hot washing machine, the wool part felted up real tight and pulled the fabric up to look like this:

Yeah.  That didn't happen.  It looks the same:)

Except the wool band is fuzzier.

What I learned.  I remembered that the wool may have already been pre-felted a little because of an earlier act of stupidity that I won't get into.  Also, I think the wool band should have been several rows wider.  I'll try again someday.  Not today.  Today I'm trying to figure out how to split into three or more clones of me so I can get all my work done around the house that has been neglected, attend to my shops so I can have a good holiday season and provide good service to my customers, build a crochet reef that's going to open on October 28th, and teach more classes of kids to crochet!  Be sure to pop over here to see more pics of those delightful kids we taught on Monday!  I'm going to go slice plums:)

  1. The top two photos have a pronounced 3D effect. Is it just me? I did get new contact lenses today.

  2. That would have been awesome!! Mmmm... What kind of plums? We didn't get any Italian prunes from our tree this year- I love those things :)

  3. It looks fun anyway! What if you wove unfelted wool through the rows you would've remade as wool? Do you think their felting would be enough to draw it all up together? Best wishes on this busy season!!
