Duck Duck Goose

Sugarhouse park feb 15
I've been taking advantage of the Spring Tease to get outside this week and breathe.  This is Sugarhouse Park, here in Salt Lake City.  It's one of our lovely neighborhood parks.  I went looking for crows.  No crows, but lots of ducks, geese, pigeons, and gulls.

muscovy duck
This is a Muscovy duck.  I like the way he's looking at me, like, "well?  are you going to give me some bread or what?"

geese aplenty
Taking a gander at the gooses;)

top knot duck:)
I don't know what kind of duck this is, but I just love the rosette shaped top knot!

Pigeon dance

Then I saw this little courtship.  The male was putting on quite a show, puffing out his chest and saying, "hey baby!  come over here."  And she was saying, "get away from me you creep!  Valentine's was yesterday and you didn't even get me anything!"   "Oh baby!  I'm so sorry!  Let me make it up to you!"  "Forget it!  You had your chance!"

Yes, in fact I have gone insane!  Thank you for asking:)  I think it must be this strange wind that is blowing through here.  Or it could be because I have to spend the entire rest of this day in doctor's and dentist's offices.  DH felt something pop in his ankle on Monday, and now it's hurting him to walk again.  Me, I get to go visit the dentist.  Boo.  Just x-rays today.  The fun comes next month.  Boo Hoo!

I'm outta here.  See you Friday!

Sometimes I get lucky enough to see the tom turkeys strut.....

And I agree---that is one fancy topknot that duck is sporting!

  3. You sure know how to take a picture! I am enjoying getting to see this side of you: Bobbi Lewin, nature photographer.

And I like hearing about your life and the wee bit of weather that you'd be having in SLC. Good thing you got your fresh air when you had the chance!
