Being Organized

Art by Cori Dantini; scribbled planner by me

How is your week starting off?  I am trying very hard to keep to my schedule!  With the new year I decided to try a new way of keeping myself on track.  I'm also focused on surrounding myself with beautiful art.  I want to see more of other people's art around me.  I've made a goal to budget money each month to buy art, but this art is free!  Jen at IndieFixx offers the Feed Your Soul Art Project.  Artists donate work that you can download for free for your own personal use.  I grabbed this piece by Cori Dantini and placed it on my weekly planner sheet.  The planner I just threw together real quick in Photoshop; it took no skills whatsoever.  I tried using Illustrator, but I don't know how to do that yet!  With this pretty new planner, I can write out my weekly goals at the start of the week, and my daily tasks each morning.  I then place it on a clipboard and keep it where I can see it.  Last year I used the calendar and planner on the computer, and that was ok, but I really think that there is something to actually writing out what I want to do, and definitely keeping it where I can refer to it keeps me honest with myself.  And the pretty art makes me happy.

There are lots of crocheting activities on my planner!  I'm working on a sea shell right now for the reef project.  I get a little giddy watching it take form.  I'll post pictures on the Lake Bonneville Coral Reef blog when I get it finished.

I've also been crocheting some Valentine heart garlands.  The ones I donated to various projects last year were pretty popular, so I thought I ought to put some in the shop.

Off I go to finish checking more things off my to-do list:)  Head over to IndieFixx and check out the art.  She has a new post today about artist Jo Cheung.  See you Wednesday!  TTFN!
