It snowed here earlier this week, so of course I started crocheting snowflakes. It's going to be a cooooollllllddd Hallowe'en! We are actually having a bit of a reprieve before the next storm comes through. You know, I've been doing the math; our last snowfall of last winter was in early-mid June. Our first snow fall of this winter is late October, or mid-October if you count the mountain snow. So, basically we had just barely four months of non-winter weather. It's just not right! I guess it's a trade off for the pretty scenery, but brrr! Do you like all of those pumpkins up there? Mmmmmm pie!
I finished my slippers. I won't really wear them yet because my floors are too dirty. You can see spots of paint and other grunge in the picture. I just wish there were more hours in the day to accomplish all of the things I want and need to do, then maybe I could clean my floors and wear my slippers. Those ghoulish white legs are enough to scare off any trick-or-treater! Bwaaaa haaa haaa!
This is my latest experiment. I'm really interested in hyperbolic crochet. Have you heard about the crochet coral reef that's at the Smithsonian? Or even better, have you seen it? You are so lucky! Anyway, I'm using the principles of hyperbolic crochet to make a scarf. You can see that it's starting to ruffle along the edge.
The afternoon is slipping away. The snowflake garland will be in my shop as soon as I get home from doing my early voting. You're going to vote, right?
Have a spooktacular weekend!!! Happy Hallowe'en!
Gorgeous snow flakes and I would love a pair of slippers like that, so snug and sweet!
ReplyDeleteLearning to crochet is on my "personal one day to do list". I really need to start crossing such things of my list.
Have a lovely weekend xox
@life love, crocheting is pretty easy to learn. sometimes patterns can be confusing, but the crocheting itself is the easy part!
ReplyDeletenice combination (pumpkin and lace) to suit both the season and the weather...yesssuh! :)
