When DH heard that I had broken the coffee pot on Friday, he started quaking in his boots at the thought of me with no caffeine. "Get thee to the coffee pot store!", he demanded. And this is who came home with me. We had such a lovely weekend together. You may mistake that bright light for sunlight; it's understandable. It's actually a heavenly light from the Goddess Caffeina, shining down from above.
This is me practicing my photoshop editing techniques. And showing off the one pumpkin we have left from last fall's harvest, and my necklace I finished this weekend. The pumpkin is still heavy for its size; that tells me it's still good. I love pumpkin♥. I wonder what he might become. Soup? Muffins? Or my all time favorite, pumpkin pie? There's enough meat there for a couple choices. I'm thinking peanut pumpkin soup for dinner is a good choice. Yum!
So, back to that Swap Bot question from Friday. There seems to be some consensus that I should trust my gut instinct. I'm going to listen to you and to my gut and not do it. One thing that turns me off of the Swap Bot model is that there isn't really an opportunity for forming relationships with the entities you are swapping with. Sure you get a name and address, but going beyond mailing your items isn't encouraged. I want to know the people I'm swapping with.
I like A'isha's idea of organizing a swap through our blogs. Is anybody else interested? And if you don't have a blog, you can still play. Let me know if this sounds fun. We can see what everyone wants to do, and figure out together how to make it happen. I'm more than willing to do any organizational stuff that needs to happen. Ooo! I just remembered! I picked up Blogging for Bliss, and there is a section in there on organizing blog swaps. I'll go read it and report back;)
Sounds like fun, Bobbi. I think I have the same coffee maker with the automatic grinder? I only love coffee in the morning--we get Peet's delivered--have you ever had Peet's? You wouldn't drink anything else!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've had Peets. I love good coffee. I usually try to buy locally roasted. I love the Cafe Ibis coffee here in SLC!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe your pumpkin is still good. What a great necklace!! Thank you for the lovely comment on my blog. It's so nice to meet other artists.
ReplyDeleteThe coffee Gods have indeed smiled upon you! I wish you many happy mornings together.
ReplyDeleteHello Bobbi, thank you for visiting my blog :))
ReplyDeleteI bought a little bit diferrent model with the thermos a while ago but exchanged it for a regular carafe one.The sugestion of preheating the pot with hot water beforehand didn't really work for me wanting to wake up to already made cup of fresh coffee.Hope you love yours and enjoy it as much as I do,they are really great coffeemakers :))
I'd like to participate in the swap Bobbi...I don't blog though as you know.
ReplyDeleteCan I still play?
What would I swap? Do you have to be an artist?
Lalie
you are an artist Lalie!
ReplyDeleteHah! Love the sparkling shine on the coffeepot. It looks almost superhuman - for an appliance!
ReplyDeleteyou still have a pumpkin? wow!
ReplyDeletei need my morning caffein too, so i hear ya about the coffee pot. thank goodness you got another one...phew! ;)
ahh seems the coffee godess is blessing you with special blinding lights, the pot does look like its about to take over... Here here... to the coffee pot!!!
ReplyDeleteBack to been sensible, well glad you liked my idea, i really don't know much about how to run a swap but I think it would be fun to play...
when you get things sorted out on the criteria (i'm sure there will be some) I can run a little ad over on my blog,(if you like) if we all do it, might grow as big as ben hur... but still sounds fun. And more personal.. instead of a secret santa it could be like a secret blog...ok enough of me. If I'm not making sense pls forgive me in advance i have a silly flu...
Cheerio
A'isha
not a silly flu, A'isha! that's not fun at all. I figure I'll start collecting ideas for the swap, keep track of who is interested then we can make guidelines and all.
ReplyDeleteMonika, I tried the preheating this morning and didn't really notice a difference. I'm liking the pot!
Now there is a glinting beauty!
ReplyDeleteLove that photo!
Cool necklace and I love what you did with the photo! I sure don't know how to do any of that kind of editing. I bought a "Teach Yourself Visually" book for Photoshop and even that is way over my head. I kinda panic when technology is involved in anything...
I will be interested to hear more about your swap, but don't know if I would be able to participate at this time or not....keep me posted!
