Sundance and Clean Air

We're leaving the valley today, heading up to Park City to see our first Sundance film of the season.  We're going to see Vegetarian.  It's a Korean film and looks to be very beautifully done.  I'm no film critic, but I'll try to report back in a somewhat intelligent manner:)

We chose four films: Vegetarian, All My Friends Are Funeral Singers, Secrets of the Tribe, and Nuummioq.  Because we chose rather obscure films, we really didn't have trouble getting the movies and times we wanted.  The selection process for getting into the festival is complicated!  You have to watch for the announcement of when you can sign up.  Then during your designated time, you register to be selected for a time slot to buy tickets.  It's done by lottery, so we were lucky to get a slot.  Then they send you an email telling you when your half-hour time slot is and where to go stand in line.  It's all very competitive too; the good movies go fast.  Our dream is to one day be able to afford the festival pass that gets you into anything you want.  Someday.....

In the meantime, you lovely readers have a splendid weekend!
