Squirrel update, or we're all going nuts here

squirrelnov6
It's almost done!  I still want to add some color to the acorn caps on the bottom, and then I'll paint the sides of the canvas, seal it all, and one more down.  Whoo hoo!  I see a squirrel at the end of the tunnel.  I mean a light, yeah.

Yesterday I just couldn't face any of these critters I've been working on.  I work on these all night long in my sleep, if I can call it sleep.  So I decided to take a break and do something else.  My creative act for yesterday was to sit on the porch, knitting and enjoying this simply amazing and glorious fall weather.  Winter keeps threatening, but we've been given another repreve.  It's too splendid to sit indoors.

Back to the squirrel....You can see that it's changed yet again.  I was trying to work him out in oil pastels, but then I decided they were crap, and I read that they aren't good for permanency.  So I gessoed another piece of canvas and finished him with colored pencil, graphite, acrylics, more gesso.  I used acrylic medium to place it on the canvas.

I will be so happy when I have all of these pieces finished.  I desperately need sleep.  My house is a disaster and I really want to go play in my kitchen!  I want to bake something beautiful and delicious.  I want to clean all of my art supplies off the dining room table and create a new autumn tableau.  I should take down my Hallowe'en decorations.
