Animal House

I tried my hand at animal photography today.  It's hard!  These guys move around a lot.

DH and I don’t have a dog; we just have Rose the six-toed cat.  I find I like the idea of a dog, but the reality is a bit more responsibility than I am prepared for.  Rose is pretty high maintenance for a cat.  So until I feel that I am ready to be a good dog parent, I’ll just share my friends’ dogs.

These are the dogs we are around this week.  Chester is an old friend.  He’s an Irish Setter - Golden Retriever mix.  Huge!  But he thinks he’s a lap dog.  Many times I’ve sat on the couch and had him try to climb up in my lap!

Frankie has been around for a few years, but I’ve never seen much of him, because he’s usually hiding behind a chair.  He was a rescue dog, and experiencing some PTSD.  This visit, though, he has even come up and smelled me.  He’s hanging out and communing with the other dogs and people.

Misty is visiting this week, while her family is away.  She is a hoot.  Being a collie she is constantly herding all of us.  It’s so funny watching her follow us every time we walk away from the rest of the flock.  She’s having to keep track of six humans, two dogs, and a cat this week.

And let's not forget Sugar and Midnight the mice!  They were really hard to capture on film!
