Yummy Art!

Crossbreeading a Doe With Your Grandmothers Afghan
I had a very art-filled weekend.  I got to see this piece of work by Elaine Bradford at a local fiber arts show at the GARFO Art Center

She is my new hero.  If you get a chance to see her work, I highly recommend it.

I also got to hear Eliza Fernand speak at an art talk.  She said some things that really resonated with me.  One idea was that just because you are not formally trained in a technique, or don't know the "proper" way to execute it, do it anyway.  Figure out your own way to create that craft or art form and it will let your own voice come through more clearly.

Another artist at the opening was Naomi Marine.  She is another amazing artist, from right here in Salt Lake.  The way she manipulates fabric and works with light and space is awe inspiring.  We're lucky to have her working with us on the Lake Bonneville Coral Reef Project

The sun is actually shining here today!  So I have a lot to finish up so I can get outside.  Happy Monday to you, and I hope your week is beautiful!  See you on Wednesday:)

  2. OOoo! I love the joined-at-the-tail-whatever-they-ares!

And I like the idea of doing what you want to do whether you really know how or not.

I think that sums up my artwork.

  3. Wow, cool stuff! I'm always intrigued by fiber shows...the creative ideas that flow out especially because people don't think of the medium as fine art!
