In the Studio
I put my crochet hook down long enough to work on this flier for the May Day celebration this year. We have some friends that put on a big shindig every year for May Day, with a May pole and everything. I volunteered to do the artwork this year.
The original, I painted with acrylics on a 5"x7" art board. I used a combination of gel pens and watercolor crayons to add in the faeries, butterflies, and flowers. I pulled it into photoshop and added the border and text, and played with layers a little to mellow things a bit, all the while saying, "honey! how do I do this?" Good thing he's working from home today!
I've got to run outside and plant some beets and radishes real quick before the next snow storm gets here. Maybe I can look at the faeries in the picture and say, "I believe that spring will come! I believe! I believe!" And what am I supposed to do while I say "I believe"? Clap my hands? If I click my heels I'll go to Kansas, and I don't know anyone there.
OK, I'm outa here!

Ring a bell? Or does that give an angel it's wings??
ReplyDeleteYou did such a good job on this poster, looks great!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I think you should dance a jig while clapping your hands.
ReplyDeleteAt least it might entertain the neighbors.
I looked out my window the other night and eight deer were right across the street---I thought of you!
I don't think they had any faeries with them though.
But I do think deer would probably like faeries.
Love your May Day artwork!
And I love beets.........
Hi Bobbi, love the painting :D
