I've really been jonesing over this color palette lately. It's a little more muted than the colors I generally work with, while still being fairly bold.
And so of course, I want to interpret it in every medium I can! I'm working on another garland. That scratchy scribble there is, or will, be a deer. I've been arguing with myself over what color he will be. The really boring, steeped in reality part of me keeps saying that deer are brown. But the artist in me is saying (really loud and with a foot stomp for emphasis), "deer are blue too!" My deer is going to be blue.
I'm even going to paint/collage this pitiful fella. He's seen better days. I'm going to replace his antlers with some branches I found in the front yard. Then I'm going to paint and collage pretty flowers all over him. He will be ready for spring!
I am ready for spring! The wind is trying to blow us away again, and there is supposed to be snow all weekend. Definitely going to be a snuggling in and reading kind of weekend. Any signs of spring where you are?

Pouring buckets of rain and fierce wind, with flurries mixed in. But, the afternoons are longer, with sunsets happening later and later..
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see him all spiffed up! We're under half a foot of snow right now...glad I didn't plant those peas yet!
ReplyDeleteDoes a bunch of slop in the street count?
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are making your deer blue.
A few years ago, there was a community artist project here---various artists painted life-size deer statues. You should have seen the colors of deer we had around town!
Believe me, deer can be ANY color.
Snow and below zero all week. Today was 2 Celsius and it felt sooo good.
ReplyDeleteI am sure your deer are going to be lovely, can't wait to see them...
