I'm always getting these ideas for little projects I want to do. Instead of just filing the ideas away in that abyss of "projects that never get done" I'm trying to get in the habit of just doing it when I think of it, providing of course that I have the parts and pieces.
So when I was playing outside the other day and found some moss growing between the bricks on the patio, I thought "oh! let's make a terrarium!" I started to file the idea away, and then realized it would take less than 15 minutes, so I should just do it, right? So I went to my pantry shelf where I keep all the random jars and bottles I'm in love with (and waiting to fill with flowers from my summer garden); I found this old jar. I scooped a bit of potting soil into the bottom, then dug up a small piece of moss with the trowel and poked it in. The moss had lots of sand on the bottom; I think that's good. Then I ducked down to the basement to pull out my xmas craft box, where I had some little plastic deer hidden. See? It's good to save every little thing you've ever had! It makes me happy when the sun shines through it. I love little miniature worlds.
Our snow seems to be melting. I feel like such a little kid, whining, "I want to go out and play!!!!" I'll stamp my foot for emphasis:)
If the kids weren't asleep, I'd be laughing so loud. You FOUND.SOME.MOSS. Just some? And you were excited to find it? Honey, come to my yard- you'll die of sheer bliss :) I love the terrarium though!

ReplyDeleteOooo! I like that phrase.
I'm sure I'm a resident there.
Cute terrarium, by the way!
