First thing, I want to thank Leah over at Creative Every Day for featuring my Pelican drawing! If you haven't been over there yet today, pop on over; she showcased some fantastic artists, and I am so honored to have been chosen to be among them!
It's been quite the week. I'm happy that it is Friday and I can give my brain a little rest over the weekend. I don't know what's going on, but I've been really scatterbrained. I keep forgetting what I'm doing, and forgetting to do stuff I'm supposed to be doing. I want to leave you with a little weekend inspiration and show you my creative project for today.
This is my potting table. Any ideas on how I can dress it up a little? It's on the patio in the area that I want to be "pretty". There really isn't anyplace else to put it but there.
I have this odd little container that came inside a little overnight case I picked up at a thrift store years ago. I knew it had some use; I finally figured out what it was. It's for a container garden of course! There are no holes, so I put some gravel in the bottom.
Then added a bit of dirt.
I dug some Hen and Chicks from the yard. They're everywhere!
Next, I put in a couple plugs of wooly thyme that I picked up at the nursery today.
And then packed in a little more dirt before laying down some ice plant on top and barely pressing it into the dirt. I accidentally knelt on the ice plant yesterday and thought I squished a slug all over my leg. Ewwww!
Then I decided I wanted more height in the middle, so I yanked some of the little hens out and put in this big one. And there it is! Now wasn't that fun?
The beets are coming up. I don't understand why DH isn't more excited about this than he is.
A little bit of color.
Have a beautiful, restful weekend. See you Monday!
Try a sweet fabric skirt around the edge of your potting table. Store stuff underneath.
ReplyDeleteBEETS! HENS AND CHICKENS! HYACINTHS! all my favorites!
And congrats on the AED recognition.
Happy weekend.
Oh, your Hens and Chicks are so cool!!!
ReplyDeleteThey look huge! And so much more red around the edges than mine! I know there are many varieties---fun to see some different than my flock!
Mine are still covered for the winter....can't wait to see what they have been doing under there when they get uncovered in a few weeks.....
I love all those plants .
ReplyDeleteHello Bobbi, congratulations to being featured at the Creative every day!Your pelican drawing is gorges!
ReplyDeleteThe container with all the succulents is lovely. And for the table.
I used a vinyl tablecloth on mine.I cut the shape of the table little bit bigger and then put an elastic on the edge so it fits snugly over it and it covers the sides.Easy to use staples too.You can buy some nice patterns these days,it's inexpensive and you can just wipe it to keep it clean.Usually I have baskets at the bottom to keep the odd things in.
Thanks for the great potting table ideas!
