Here's my Kool Aid dyed roving. Not a bad color. Not sure about the colorfastness though.
Some of the color washed out when I put the needle felted hearts through the hot water and soap treatment. Maybe next time I should try the vinegar. And I could soak the hearts in vinegar to set the dye more before I go on with the process.
I spent my morning online, researching marketing strategies, and I happened upon Regretsy; have you seen this???? It really worried me, because the people making these items think they are LOVELY! I think my items are lovely. What if I'm wrong? What if I'm Regretsy material??? It's kind of like that scene in Napoleon Dynamite where he's talking about what a wonderful portrait artist he is, and actually he's horrible. I always worry about that. I am so insecure!! And sites like Regretsy only reinforce that! It's burning my eyes, but I have to go back and look some more. Oh save me!

Bobbi, --your funny, don't worry--you will not be featured in Regretsy :) Where did you find this site? Or more important, who has time to start a site like this? It's kind of like an accident, though. You don't want to look, but you can't help it. So, remember if your get on Regresty, where would the rest of us go--your work is awesome!
ReplyDeleteDiane, I've seen your stuff; there's no way you're going on regretsy! thanks for the ego strokes:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool way to use kool-aid! Oh and I have heard of Regretsy. I think there will always be haters out there...what can you do?! Don't spend time worrying about that negative stuff, I say!
ReplyDeletebobbi-you are great! i love the heart :) it looks so warm and fuzzy and snuggly.
ReplyDeleteI assure you, no one would regret buying your beautiful items!
ReplyDeleteRegretsy my gluteus maximus! Every day I look at LUNA and wonder what mind created that. I wish you would do more work in that vein. The warm and fuzzy stuff doesn't speak to me much, but your "fowl" work is very cool.
ReplyDeleteRod you crack me up! What mind indeed!
