I had to take a break from the squirrel to work on this elk that has been tormenting me. I sat here on the sofa last night, watching movies and trying to draw this guy. I finally had to quit because my hand was cramped into an old lady claw. My perspective was completely warped. This guy had a great big rump and a little tiny head. It was just awful. I got up this morning and kept going. I still don't like his face. I think his muzzle looks more like a feline, and the eyes are just too sweet.
I put the elk aside and went back to the squirrel. I thought I'd see what happened with my oil pastels. I have basically just blocked in the color areas, blended with some linseed oil. After I started this I had to stop and wonder if he's going to be dry by next Thursday. Hmmm....sure hope so. After I get him painted, I'll cut around and then I plan to do some stitching before I attach him to the other canvas.
I need a walk to clear my head of squirrels and unruley elk.
